LEAD PASTOR: JEFF PALMER
I answered God’s prompting to assume the lead pastor role here at PCC in March, 2021. (If I must assume a title at all, I prefer “pastor” with a lowercase “p” as I believe “Pastor” with an uppercase “P” should be reserved for the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ). My wife, Indra, and I were married in 2006 and both raised in Atlanta – home of the Braves, Falcons, Coke, Delta Airlines, and Home Depot. (So, one can see that I come about my personal preferences honestly!) Our oldest daughter, Avani, was born in Dothan, AL, and our two youngest, Aniya and Aston, were born in Shawnee, KS, soon before the Spirit led us all to New Zealand to serve as missionaries and church planters. Needless to say, the Lord has had us on a journey!
A few odd facts: We spent 11 months living and traveling America in our 26’ RV as we transitioned back from New Zealand. Operating a chainsaw all day is therapeutic. Desserts should only consist of dark chocolate covered espresso beans or chocolate chip cookies. I never read for leisure. I could go the rest of my life without seeing another beach. I could eat a deli sandwich for every meal and be perfectly satisfied.
CHILDREN’S PASTOR: APRIL MYNATT
I am truly the happiest when I am working with kids and love my roll at PCC as Children’s Pastor! God has called me to teach and love the best – our children! It is awesome to watch kids grow and mature in their relationship with Christ. For more than 15 years I’ve worked in children’s ministry and know and understand that you can teach kids about Christ in a fun, loving environment. Helping kids know and understand that they are important to Christ and the church body is very important.
When I am not serving through my ministry at PCC, my favorite pastime is being with my family. My husband, Bill, and I live in Maryville and have two grown daughters – one married and a teacher in the Chattanooga area and the other is engaged and a senior at Lee University. We also have a wild miniature Schnauzer named Maggie.
SENIORS PASTOR: JOHN BAKER
I love our seniors and feel a special attachment to serving and teaching. I feel God has led me to this ministry at PCC. Seniors are knowledgeable, learning character through trial and error. Plus, they have a great humor! I call Heaven home but here on earth, it would be Alma, Nebraska. I love being with my family and grand-kids.
I studied at Johnson Bible College and Lycoming College, and have worked with the Knox County Court and as a counselor for Jelnick Rehab Center in Knoxville. I’m also active with prison ministry.
Hobbies: I like to fish, play with model trains, work with bees, and cook with smoke.
