Partnership Christian Church is a New Testament gathering of believers that desires to operate in the same form as the first church described in Acts 2:42. Partnership’s ecclesiastical roots are in the Restoration (Stone-Campbell) Movement heritage; however, care is taken to ensure that Truth is elevated above tradition.

Partnership Christian ChurchThe pastoral and administrative structure of Partnership utilizes a plurality structure of leaders consisting of elders, deacons, paid pastoral staff, and lay leaders. Jesus Christ is the Authoritative Leader of the church with the elders serving under Him as the primary spiritual overseers and deacons as the stewards of the church’s resources and assets.

HISTORY

Blount Christian Church was established on January 28, 1996 by approximately 70 former members of First Christian Church of Maryville. These families initially met in a Pizza-Hut-shaped building behind West Chevrolet near McGhee Tyson Airport and unanimously agreed to create a new Independent Christian Church in the Maryville/Alcoa area. The first worship gathering commenced on February 11, 1996 at the Alnwick Community Center in West Maryville and soon thereafter relocated to Mary Blount Elementary School. 

Ground breaking for the current building took place on June 16, 1997, and construction started on the building in the spring of 1998.  The first worship service in this building was on Easter Sunday, 2000. Blount Christian Church changed its name to Partnership Christian Church in 2018 so as to identify itself as a “partner in the Gospel” (Philippians 1:5), be easier to locate according to it’s address (323 Partnership Pkwy and Partnership Park South industrial park), and relieve any confusion with Blount Community Church.
